Destructions Inc descended upon Eynsford, Kent, on Saturday 12th December for our Annual Destructions Inc Lunch (The DIL). We had our meal in the Malt Shovel, then descended upon the other hostelries. So we owe the good residents of Eynsford an apology for;
A) drinking all their beer
B) deafening everybody

In September 1981, Destructions Inc and the London Club of Great Boozers (that's what LCGB stands for isn't it?), visited the Baie de la Somme and stayed at Stalag 19. That was the info that your webmonster was given, however, Mr Ex Claus says, "the visit was with the S&K not the LCGB".

The S&K, being closed for 2009, took Melior to Preston Court Farm, Wingham, to operate on a temporary line. Jim & Dodge helped out.

Once again, Destructions Inc took to the water. with Mr Toad from Broxbourne, heading for Roydon.

In April 2009, an old friend of Destructions Inc., Clive from South Africa, visited the UK and we all met up at the Doric Arch (the pub!) at Euston.

Staplehurst, and the Bell Inn, suffered an infliction yesterday, as Destructions Inc arrived for some snap and beer. Plenty of each were consumed.

What has Essex done to deserve this?

This year the special beers were Ich Hasse, Call Me a Taxi, Gurning Bloom & May's Mild! Wot! No Captain or MR Gloom? And no Charlie either. Put your earplugs away!

The First Day of 1974 saw Melior being moved from Sittingbourne to Kemsley, using Victor (AKA Smellie) for haulage.

Four of us managed to get to KD to sample the many ales in the Steam & Beer do. The others were doing something with cheques.

No we haven't gone teetotal! We descended, more or less en masse, upon Broxbourne to have a day out on the River Lea Navigation.

Dodge has provided this series of photos of the Peckett (Bear) being loaded up at Falkirk for its long journey to Kemsley Down.

Nothing lives for long in this little known backwater, which once provided alternative transport to the S&KLR. Enter if you dare! Glug.

Four Directors paid a visit/made an infliction of Switzerland, with Dodge trying German, Babbalouie attempting French & the other two shouting English louder. More pics to come soon.

In July 2007, several of the Directors descended upon Maldon, to attempt to drink the pubs dry.

Destructions Inc arrived en masse to Kemsley Down to assist the S&K in disposing of several gallons of real ale.

The Lion Hotel at Farningham was the establishment that Dodge chose for our Destructions Inc Lunch. The meal was good, but the beer ran out, so we had to visit the nearby Chequers. Getting to Farningham proved problematic, with the directors going to Swanley, Dartford & Longfield for the QM's Transport.

A lunchtime visit to the better real ale pubs of the university city.

The 2005 Destructions Inc Lunch was held at the King & Queen, East Malling, Kent. A good meal was eaten and several.....ok - lots.....of beers were consumed.

It took place on Saturday 26th November 2005 at the Lower Red Lion, St Albans and the beer was great. Tony is now a year older - but remember, the more birthdays you have, the longer you live.

Almost a full contingent of Directors and several Associates made the journey to the Strathmore Arms at St Pauls Walden, Herts., on 5th November 2005. A special guest appearance was made by Wow the Cat. Thanks to Danny for putting up with us (we'll bring you some ear plugs next time) and to Bernie for driving the coach.

One late evening the Directors proposed extending the S&KLR to serve the BR station & the two adjacent hostelries, incuding the Splash Branch. Plans were drawn up & are stored somewhere in the DI filing system (we use the Heap Method) awaiting a scanner that can take A3 sheets of paper. In the meantime, here is a picture of a test train covering part of the route.

The Destructions Inc Lunch, held annually at a different pub each year (they probably wouldn't want a return visit!). The 2004 one was held in the Bull at Otford, where Richard was voted in as a Director. The pics, at present, were taken on a digital camera borrowed from work, which doesn't produce the usual high standard results - well, it probably does, but I haven't read the instructions! NOW UPDATED WITH THE QM'S PICS (after a year!).

Public Transport!!! Always late, trains delayed, buses full. Plenty of time, then, to wait at the station or bus stop. Out comes the camera.

Every October, Destructions Inc were given the job of organising (if that is the right word) the car park at Sittingbourne, during the big open day.

Where strange and unusual things were cooked and sometimes even eaten.

In the mid 1970s, the Directors visited the Isle of Wight. Lots of Bishops Finger in Wishing Well at Pondwell was followed by gallons of Gales HSB in the Castle in Ryde. Here are the inevitable results.
